Omega 5, IIRC, has a rather large minefield in it (if not more than one), in addition to TWO factions that run Class 10 VHFs and I'm fairly sure one that runs Class 9s. Ships might not have been the only things damaging you.

Just for reference- What type of shield are you running with, and what are your reputations like with the Red Hessians, Bounty Hunters, and Corsairs?

If the mines catch you while you're unshielded, you will die very, very quickly. If you haven't upgraded your shield since you bought the Hammerhead, that might be the reason - the standard one isn't all that good.

Well, the thing is, I HAD full shields and I wasn't moving. It was in this great shippgrave. somewhere in the middle. I finished killing some Hessians and was looking for some loot of the wrecks. Then i saw red lasers started to flee and was dead immediately. I suppose I'm not having the worsest flighting-skills, so I was really confused by my early death. Maybe I'll find out what attacked me next time I'll move to this system, but thanks for your help anyway I'll see what I can find out.

yea mate was more than likely the hessians just cause you killed some dosent mean their gone they patrol like crazy.
