Freelancer in the Wikipedia

Just ran across it by chance. Who put it there, one of the moderators?

Don't know who did, but a good idea. Its now been updated a bit, giving links to some mods.

Quite a nice write up, actually. Wonder how many games rate a mention in the Wikipedia.

p.s. Odd that they say "over 40 star systems", when there are actually over 50. Maybe somebody couldn't count?

I did some of it once I saw it

I found that they stated that trade lanes alowed faster than light travel, yet they also said that they alow you to go at 5Km per second not the 330 000Km per second that light travels.

Well clearly 1 km in the game is actually about 1000000 km in real life. Unless you think most solar systems are only 100 km or less across?

Barwalker, 50 is still "over 40" last time I checked.

The game does not simulate real ratioes so it is safe to assume the distance is right. And in the game there is no mention of a different speed that light travels.

Someone pulled the links to the mods and reduced it to just a few external links. I added "similar games" references to Starlancer, Tachyon, and Openlancer.

They were about to delete the Openlancer article, I updated it. Still needs more details.

Any game or really anything can be listed on Wikipedia. A list of major mods can certainly be added but I think they want it put into a new article just covering the mods.

I think Starlancer, Freelancer, and Openlancer should be merged into a new category. Like Lancer's Canon or something.
