looking for a ''good'' server

I have been to a couple of servers, and I find I get bored with them. First let me tell you what I would like to find in a server.

1. Real 'Role Play' and not just bang-bang-shoot-um-up play.
2. Clans that actually follow their faction roles as in the single player game.
3. A Clan system where each Clan is required to maintain a set minumim inventory of ALL trade goods and kills.
4. A server where the average age is higher than 25. (I'm 50... But I'm addicted to this darn game.)
5. Mods are fine as long as they are fair.
6. A server where players are actually interested in increasing their Clan's status in honor, skill and cash value.

If anyone knows of a server like this, please respond..

Thanks,

Cappy56

well one option is thee evolved server its modded (of course) but is it a good one well balanced and V2 of said mod is in the works, it is as you said you like, firstly and foremost an RP server but as i beleive it there is no capacity in it that a clan will own a system but theyare able to claim bases or a planet as their own, for more inf heres the main site/forums all the info youd need is here http://www.evolvedones.com/forum/index.php

hope its helpful.

Cappy 56,

I would suggest you check out the monkey Universe server.

Our 2 oldest players for the moment are closing up to 56 (march and april)...
The server is run by me and Ice and we are both over 30 (me in 1 month 40)...
A large base of the player community is close and over 30.

But that's enough chit chat about age...

Monkey Universe is a modded server which tries to offer as much RP events as possible. We host weekly events (monday/wednesday/friday) as well in the EU and the US time zone and we have monthly events...
We encourage RP on any level and have various active RP clans (pirates, police, navy, traders, smugglers, mercenaries and soon to be added minerclans)
The clans are also encouraged to make rp initiatives and we are open to any suggestion to improve the RP...
Each clan has a homesystem in which they make up their own rules...
Clanplayers arent allowed to fly "untagged" charatcers to stay out the RP...

We also have a very active ventrilo voice server which is used by the major part of our dedicated players...
The admins are also active on the server and participate whenever they can in the roleplay...

Maybe it's best to check it out on the website and the forum (link via website).
Major parts of the forum are public so people can find out stuff without having to register...

Greetings Evolved Ones!

It's an exciting time in our community. Version 1.1 of the Evolved Mod has proven a success, with rebalanced ships and increased server reliability. There's never been a better time to play on Evolved. Take it from our players:

"I've been playing since the game came out, on various MODs, I think I like this one best." - Actual in-game chat from Lone_Wolf

Community member Nobunaga Oda is now running weekly events for anyone who wishes to attend, and so far they have been quite enjoyable!

The big news lately is that Version 2.0 development of the Evolved Mod is in full swing. Shipwrights, new and old, are building new ships to be included such as Baene's Divexo R99, Rakile's Blade, Dart's Pelican Freighter, and my own Spiked Punch. Expect an even more diverse set of ships this time around! The Storylines sub-team under Barbarosa is cooking up even more intriguing custom news and rumors to keep the Evolved universe flowing with great background atmosphere. The Weapons and Equipment sub-team under Lazarus is adding tons of new options while refining weapons balance. Our Systems sub-team under Nova is hard at work progressing the systems to show the passage of time with new objects, systems, and NPCs.

That covers the standard bases of mod development. Now I'll mention the boldest feature to be included in v2.0: Freelancer's first ever Dynamic Economy. Tempest and his Economy sub-team are hard at work creating the system that will revolutionize the way people play Freelancer. Each base will actually produce the commodities they sell, based on the number of raw materials that are delivered to them. Prices will be adjusted daily to current supply and demand. Traders who think they can just find and exploit the "best" trade route over and over have another thing coming in V2, and that's just the beginning. Later updates will bring ships, weapons, and equipment into the system as well. There will even be an integrated stock exchange based on the actual business each in-game company is doing. As their business booms, their stocks go up, and our players who invest right will reap the rewards!

That's what's going on over at Evolved. Like I said, it's an exciting time. The future is bright, and v1.1 of the Evolved Mod is being enjoyed daily by freelancers and faction members alike. Now's a great time to check out Evolved and see what it's all about. Take a peak at our home page or sign in on our forums and say hello. We're waiting for you.

In less than one month, the Evolved Mod v1.1 has been downloaded over 1000 times! You can download it HERE. Hope to see you soon!

Thanks all for the input. I will be checking the suggested servers sometime in March. I'll be away on vacation until then and won't have access or even want to have access to the net.. :-) (Going on a cruise..!!)

Thanks for the replys...
