the freelancer gathering thingy

how will a server handle a couple thousand people?
the max a server will take is 128
and they cant do anything besides chat, because the Q and A with TLR and MS said that about 32 people were on and fighting and the server just quit.
what about that?

wtf? Why would you WANT a couple hundred thousand people? And i've seen servers filled up to 80 people, all fighting, and the server held. Laggy, yes, but it held.

IRC? well, i dunno what that is, but i do know its not a freelancer server. I never did look at that news post anyway.

IRC is a very commonly used chat server type, its very good, so commonly used im not sure why youd never heard of it

you can get 1000's, if not millions of people chatting up an IRC server
