MP Dificulty, but with Story?

Hi,

I thought maybe I could play some Freelancer again.

However, I consider the standard SP difficulty setting much to easy. Enemys are much smarter on a MP Server.

Is there any setting oder perhaps a mod I could not find which enabes MP difficulty in Single Player Mode?

Thanks in advance.

There is a mod that increases difficulty a little The epsilon mod there are others as well, that can change the enemies strength. Plus, you can always change ships, and say fly a freighter.

In the "my games"folder there's a file called "prefoptions.ini",open it with a text editor(notepad),find"DIFFICULTY_SCALE"and change it from 1.00 to either 1.25,1.50,1.75 or 2.00 then "save as".

**shuffles of with a new headache**

i believe the answer is:

Jonben, I edited your post due to stupid amount of space wasted with meaningless dival that was more than 100 lines long. Don't do it again! You risk a ban here, and I will push for it if you don't stop this crap.

Well, I recommend using the Perf Options thing or Epsilon (sp?) Mod. Other than that, I have no clue what to do.

I'm just trying out a new sig, please don't flame me if it doesn't work. I just happened to be the last one to post in the sig test thread and I don't like to double post.

WTF?

Edit - Killa, you can't link it from your own computer, try Photobuckets.

Thanks Bejaymac for the tip!

However, this setting seems to change only damage or hitpoints settings.

In multiplayer mode however, enemys do not take or inflict more damage, but are more agile in space combat.

This is the kind of challenge I am looking for!

Any hints?

I think that Argh has included some new AI techniques, strategies, etc. in his Toolkit mod. I'm not sure because I haven't actually played it, but that's what the description says. This mod also includes a "balancing" of several other aspects of the game. It should be available in the Downloads section.

Alternatively, if you ask in the General Editing forum, someone might be able to show you how to change the AI to make the game more difficult on your own. I'm not that knowledgable about that coding though, so I can't do anything other than point you to those who can help.

How about the Equalizer Mk V Mod by Warzog
Mk V is the largest in the Equalizer series and incorporates Xerx's OpenSP v1.1 mod, so it's purely Open Singleplayer (no storyline) and for Multiplayer games.

Also check out The Equalizer Mod Mk IV
This version is for Singleplayer games only.
The options don't work in Multiplayer games. If you want this Mod for Multiplayer games talk to Warzog.

But what this Mod adds is an option screen when you activate the Mod in the Freelancer Mod Manager.
Options...
Choice of 34 different Fully-Armed Starting Ships. Juni and Trent are in some of the cinematic scenes.
Choice of 6 AI's - Difficult, Hard, Medium, Easy, Beginner and Deathwish.
Choice of High or Low Pay Mission Pay.
Also the Extra Armor, NPC shields, & Infinite Power have been removed from NPC ship loadouts and a few typos have been corrected in several files changed from The Equalizer Mk III MOD.
New "Super Dagger" on Pittsburgh.
Hovis Race Bypass.
Increased Speeds are based on the Speed Mod edited by IGx89 Made from the Cruise speed mod for Freelancer v1.0 by Daekar and the Ion Thrusters mod v1.0 by Migl.

The Equalizer Mk III

The Equalizer Mk II

And last but not least the first MOD in the series...
