Getting to cruise speed

Do all ships get to cruise speed at the same rate? I just wondered because in one of the missions, I always seem to get to cruise speed slower than some of the others. Thanks.

Acceleration to cruising speed is the same for all ships. However, where Formation is concerned, it's slightly different. Ships that are in formation will somehow catch up to whoever it is they're following. That might be the cause of your increased acceleration.
