help!!!

please help, this is more of a tech problem, when starting the game up it gets as far as the intro, runs through that, then crashes to desktop, does anyone have anyidea on what to do??

yes i have had this problem u may have to get a better graphics card or try it on a diffrent computer or it might be something else does it just cut off while u are playing the game?

no, keeps on doing it, have restared multiple times, i want to avoid having to reinstall it becaus i have a online player which i dont wanna lose
and it only cuts off just after the intro, you know the bit with all of the ships (the liberty, britonia, rihneland, hispania (scuse the spelling) )
taking off and going off the the serius sector
gives me a blackish purple screen, then quits back to desktop

If you want to keep your player try the following, altough it is kinda risky.

First go to My documents, then to games, and freelancer.
In there are the accts, cut and paste the multiplayer files on the desktop.
Then go to the freelancer EXE. directory and search for flaccountid or something.
Cut and paste it to the desktop and reinstall.
When reinstalled ok, simply cut those files and replace the new ones, which will let you have your old chars on any server.
It might not work, but id give it a shot.

if u want to keep all ur multi-player account isnt there a special code that u put in which holds all ur data? cuz mine has it

lol, i havent done it just yet (got sidetracted) i dont really have any other option that doing what you said, i dont know my secretcode, ill try to find out tho

people said to me it doesn't work but i know thats what it says when u go to it at first i am trying to go online to play cuz all my freinds are on it but the computer im running on hasn't got the internet yet(getting it for my laptop) cuz my freinds own one of the biggest clans on the uk server.

go here to get your mp account id ...

start >> all programs >> microsoft games >> freelancer >> examine my account id ...

if you wanna save single player games ... save the mygames folder "in your My Documants Folder" somwhere and then replace it when you reinstall.

what lizard missed there was the myflaccountid. save that to, and look around in your EXE folder too see if there is anything you might backup, just incase you have the wrong file that is.

This may sound wierd, but try updating your sound drivers. I used to have the exact same problem, but sound drivers fixed it immediately. If not that, then try DirectX if you ahven't already.
