FLMM/FLrebalance3.40 killed my freelancer

FLMM/FLrebalance3.40 killed my freelancer

just reloaded and played the story...fine

loaded FLMM, and FLRebalance3.40

now Freelancer crashes all the time after the initial screen, either with or without the mod loaded

advice please

Uninstall. Delete savegame files. Re-install.

That should do the trick. If it doesn't try downloading and installing either the SDK or Unofficial Patch 1.4. They usually help somewhat. You may find more helpful advice in the specific FLMM or Rebalance Mod forums though. Good luck.

FLMM actually screws up your game, unless you play only one mod.
What you can do to prevent this is install once to the default folder. After the installation, rename the install folder from Freelancer to for instance Freelancer Original.
Now install another version of freelancer again to the default folder and rename that folder to Freelancer Modded.
Now you can redirect your FLMM to the Freelancer Modded folder and leave the Freelancer Original unmodded for if you want to play the original.
If your modded install is screwed up again, just delete it (don't bother to uninstall) and copy the unmodded version and rename the copy to Freelancer Modded and you're back in the game
