I thought it was combined service vehicle. The idea is that it can function as a fighter or a freighter. Mainly, it seems to be #&$! as both -- but it can carry some potent guns. Don't underestimate its firepower, especially if you are flying a low level ship early in the story line game.

If you scan it, it says Combat Service Vehicle. It's mostly designed to run around searching for scrap, which is what the Junkers live on.

If you scan a NPC CSV, you'll see that they hold an insane amount of commondities.
