there are light fightrt shield lvl 8 and 9 but the light fightrs can only have to lvl 7 whats the deal?

My allies are the Corsairs and my Home is Omicron Gamma.

You will find other oddities in the game - like Freighter shields that are class 8/9/10, and other types of shields that you cannot buy! (class 10 graviton).

Personally - I think they sorted out the equipment like guns/shields etc, and then sorted out the balance of ships. At that point, they limited what ships can mount to retain a challenge etc
