Did this happen once or multiple times? And was it in SP (single player) or MP (multiplayer)? If it was in single player and happens multiple times, your computer's graphics capabilites may need to be upgraded, if it happened just once it might have been that your computer was auto-updating something at a time that you were playing. If it was in MP once, it means you were in a jumpgate during a period of lag, if it happens often in MP then you need to have your connection speed looked at .

That's also what happens when you use a saved game where everything is unlocked, but with the Demo version of Freelancer, and you try going through a jump gate...

Uh, yeah it's the demo version, the full ones on it's way. I downloaded a mod, trying to get another star system to play with while I wait..

I don't think the demo version lets you leave the system. So you are trapped in the jump gates for eternity. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Yes , you can leave Ny in the demo but it isn't worth it wait till you get the full game since the only way in the demo requires a bunch of modding
