House fighters.

Yes, another "Best Ship" thread. Kind of.

I got to thinking about this while deciding on what ship I should go for next on one of my MP characters, and was deciding between the Banshee and the Valkyrie. I got the Banshee, mostly because I was tired of doing missions in Rheinland with a Defender and wanted something better, NOW.

But what do you prefer in terms of the House LFs over th House HFs? When you're fooling around in Kusari, do you get a Dragon or Drake? When you're starting a character, Patriot or Defender? When you have to choose the lesser of two evils, Cavalier or Crusader?

I've been mostly an LF player since I bought the game, but I tried a Defender for the first time in a long time for a few days and got kinda attached to it. In Bretonia, I always take the Crusader, in Kusari it's a mix of Drake and Dragon, and I don't fly either Rheinland ship much, but when I do it's pretty even either way.

And NO, I don't care about your Eagle or Centurion or Pirhana or Dagger. This is for House ships.

usually i would just say this is a best ship thread and use my dissaproval smiley but in this case i'll make an exception because it seems quite interesting. I tend to favour heavy fighters due to their strength and weapons capacity, the Banshee being one of my favourites, of course my favourite ship is not a House ship but i dont want to get into a real best ship discussion so ill leave it there

In the storyline, I prefer HFs because of their torpedo capabilities. The torps are very important to have in the SP. After, however, I will use different things. I am rather attached to the HFs, but when I use LFs, I am rarely dissappaointed.

The house heavy fighters are pretty slow and weak. I'll stick with the light fighters.

strafe! the three VHF's are equal in strength

I'm the same as Gowser, the Banshee for me in terms of housefighters. Never flown a ny of the Kusari Ships.

I'd say the Dragon, beceause it can have a lot of fire power for a HF but it's to bad that it cannot mount a turret.

Not that my preference is any mystery, but I always go with the house LF. I could probably get used to the house HFs, but they lose too much maneuverability for too small of an armor upgrade. At the extreme of this, the Patriot has 1300 armor opposed to the Defender's 1600. Sure, the Defender carries more weapons, but with as little armor as that you really need all the agility you can get. And, as opposed to the pirate/borderworld/corsair/civilian ships, the house HFs only get a power class advantage of 1- and their cargo bays aren't all that impressive, either.

The Dragon and the Valkerie are still fine ships in themselves, but I'd prefer to take a Drake or Banshee given the choice.

If I happen to be fooling around with House ships, I generally end up flying light fighters. Otherwise, I tend to fly other lines of ships.

I always preferred the Valk over Banshee since it will take a heavier shield & bang-bang; for my ineptness both prove beneficial. Mounting a pair of FireKiss MK II & getting the loot only Stealthbalde MK II for me proves useful. Getting the Lvl 8 shield is the final touch. I do use torps & find they can provide a strategic advantage at times.

Remember: Frogs need love, too.

It is hard to fly with turkeys when you soar with eagles.

i think the crusader is a very overlooked ship, its great in SP can hold lots of fire power, but the only down side is its turing, but the armor and cargo space is great!

defender, valkyrie, dragon, crusader, and of course, my favorite, bloodhound (lol)

*cough* *cough* GRAVEDIGGING! *cough*

I hate the Bretonia ships, lets make that clear.... Hmmmmmmm... well, in firepower, Id have to choose the Rheinland ships, but in agilty, Ill take Kusari. Liberty ships (mostly the Defender) have a more friendly feeling. I got VERY attached to my Defender, and when I got to where u have to part with ur old ship, I was VERY dissapointed. End of my story.

When its heavy fighter, the valkyrie is my choice.
Light fighters? Take a spin in the highly manuvourable drake and annoy others because its so small and tiny and can take a lot of potshots

Drake is the best house ship, imo and my second favourite in the game.
If I wanted firepower I'd obviously be using a VHF, but the Drake is the next best thing and can often outfight VHFs in skilled hands (not mine though ).
The Banshee is the worst LF imo, due to it's lack of maneouverability, and though it's guns are slightly better than the rest of LFs, they nowhere near make up for it. If you're going for a LF, maneouverablity is paramount.
