an idea for a mod

ok, this is just for modders, i didnt see this anywhere soo...
what im thinking is not to change the ships, bases or factions. but the side missions, heres what i thought so far

Convoy :escourt convoy from here, there are # of transports carrying commodity and are going to base.

Miltary Battle : go to sector #L, we have detected something big, we will send you backup as soon as you get there, clean it up, whatevers there. (Battleship)

Campaign : assorted missions, up to 5 minimissions long.

Retreve Missing Object: we lost contact with Name in sector #L, he was carrying some important goods, go out there and find him and the goods.

Defend blockade :we have sent extra forces to Jumpgate, we want you to go there because intellagence says that the Faction are going to gou through, we need all the help we can get.

and now im out, think, wouldent the game be better online if there was more than what we just have.

this should be in one of the mods boards and a lot of this sounds either too difficult or impossible to mod

You could perhaps do the convoy one, but the ones that involve more than one mission, or jumping to a different system are probably not possible
