Strange ships on the Freelancer box

anyone ever looked at the front of the Freelancer box and noticed all the strange ships there?

ships on box:

top-center - Barracuda-like craft
top right - a bcakwards defender crossed with a cavalier?
bottom left - no idea
top-left - the donaugh?

Top left is the battle at the beginning of FL: around the Donau. Bottom elft is a Defender. Next to Trent's arm is something that COULD be a Patriot design. Above that is a Barracuda, and chasing it could be a Bloodhound or Wolfhound?

I noticed the Defender and the Barracuda, but i had no clue about the rest!
Interesting, they were probably made before the game was finalized.

That's a cavalier, not a patriot, i think. There's also a Bretonian gunboat of all things.

Yup. Definitely a Cavalier as seen from the top. As for the gunboat...it's certainly the right design but it's way too small. It looks more like a fighter and it's also on the inside flap of the box in the bottom right corner. My guess is that DA made the model and then realized that they didn't have any use for it in the game itself so hey dumped it.

Personally, I think the ship next to trent is an Anubis...

lol the barrcuda is a hammerhead (the hook thingy) the top right is a bretonian gunboat the bs on the left is the dounout the small ship becide trent is the cavlliar and the big ship is the defender

A helmet, i think. It looks about 4 sizes too big though.

Actually, DA put the gunboat in. You'll see them flying arround occasionally in Bretonia, and are wicked easy to kill (although the Mollys take great pride in taking them down for some odd reason). --- VH16

No, I saw one once in an unmodded game. it was in Omega-3, near the Cambridge Gate. I think i might have seen another one in Cambridge, but I'm not sure.

Yeah there are a few Bretonian gunboats around, especially around Leeds system and the Tau one next to it with Planet Harris in it. Also the Kusari ones look quite über and they are normally around Hokkaido and the Tau system next to Kyushu
