u cant beam the guns of transports, just the cargo.

with freighters and fighters, as soon as u shoot them and the guns and such float use the tractor beam

I get what you're saying, but as soon as the weapons start floating out of the ship, they burn up. I've looted many wrecks and this has never happened. I've acquired two nomad weapons...could it be that they're so powerful that when I blast the wrecks, I'm also destroying the weapons?

sometimes when you try to loot the same wreck more than once the guns will explode, also if you do it in a radiation field or a place with volitile gas pockets or mines they could explode

edit: also bring up the subsystem scanner using the button in the corner of the HUD. it will show you where the guns on the ship are, avoid shooting them

Right, critical question, did the guns that burned up have that little white box arround them with the label? If so, then you got a messed up game. If not, then you're a fool for not realising that those guns were just the cosmetics, similar to blasting off a turret from a station or battleship. They're just there, you can't use them (oh how I wish you could). The guns that are lootable are like all loot and have that white box on them. The others are there for show, enjoy the fireworks display while it lasts and get on with your life. --- VH16
