the criminal life: is it all that exciting?

So I finish the single player portion and then took my trip into the criminal life.
It seems to me that you're limited when you're a criminal and almost everyone hates.
you can't land on any planets, stations (except zoners), or military warships. so now you're stuck with landing only on criminal bases which there aren't nearly as many as planets and stations.
In any case, I flown to every border world and got to fly all 3 of the very heavy fighters. (using the eagle now with some fast firing weapons 8.33 fr)
as a criminal you kill everyone else and take their loot.
besides that there doesn't seem to be all that much else to do so am i missing something?
anyway, i'm turning over a new leaf and becoming a good guy. that will be fun and will now allow me to visit just about every base/planet/station (excep the criminal bases, of course).

hmm... any mods out there that actually allows one to destroy bases?

try to ally with the Zoners, and the outcasts, because they got 4 other allies. And try not to kill Corsairs so you can get tizonas. And as a note, there are more criminal bases than planets, look is asteroid fields, gas clouds, and get alot of information at other pirate bases.

The Republic Mod fixes this problem. There will be almost as many criminal systems in the Republic as there are lawkeeping ones. Example: if there are 8 lawkeeping systems in the Republic, there will be 6 or 7 criminal ones as well. When you enter the game, you can either go off to the Republic straight away as a lawkeeping individual, then carry on with "life": doing missions, trading, whatever.
OR you can go off and find a criminal bribe, enter the Republic, and do exactly the same as if you were lawkeeping.

I've started a new game and am now at about level 36 and friendly with the Corsairs, who are considered bad guys. I hadn't really planned to be friends with them, but the Red Hessians constantly attacked me and thus made me the Corsairs' ally by default. Even though I am the Corsairs' good friend, I am also on good terms with the Bounty Hunters, Liberty, Rheinland and Bretonia police etc, plus almost all business factions. You can be more or less a "criminal" -- at least flying missions for them -- and still be legal with many other factions.

However, in another game I did manage to get everybody but the Corsairs hostile to me. Even the Zoners wouldn't let me land! That definitely was a problem!

If you're a criminal, one of the most fun things is to just sit in front of either a capitol plannet or a captiol ship and then shoot anything that moves. You can also download a battleship encounter mod and launch a one man war against the navies of sirrius. Those are some kick-ass dogfights right there, and much more entertaining than running engine component from one corner of sirrius to the other. --- VH16

if not already present, someone should create a MOD that would allow one to obliterate criminal bases. Most of those bases are either floating little metal shanties or embedded in an asteroid. they all look very destructible... and should be!

I agree. It makes no sense that one Sunslayer can knock out a missions base, but do no damage to the Molly's base. All space bases should be able to be blwon to bits. But that would probably be to difficult to program.

Actually, I think there are several mods out there that make bases destructable (both criminal and legit). Search for 'em and have some fun. --- VH16

I agree with chips, stop it! And dexter, stop putting a '...' at the end of everything you say, its annoying.

Their is a destroyable universe mod if you search for it.

I'm friends with Corsairs and Outcasts along with Molly's, Liberty Rogues, Dragons, GC, and even Lane Hackers, Zoners, and the IMG. I got it made with everyone outside of Rheinland. Key to victory is kill bounty hunters... No one likes those bastards. And as long as you don't do anything against the houses or organizations (besides BH) you are good. JUST DON'T GO TO TEXAS! (Sorry for the caps) Nothing is in there anyway! And I suggest trading... It's slow but it's neutral and you can get your faction up with anyone... Even if they hate you! That my criminal life right there enjoy!
