Anubis Ship Name Origin?

What is the name of the movie where the Anubis was taken from. The movie where the alien ship is buried at the bottom of the ocean and there is a sphere inside that causes people to panic and die. Has Sharon Stone and Samuel Jackson in it. I remember the ship in that movie has a lot of resemblance to the Freelancer Anubis. Wondering if Digi Anvil team took the name from that movie?

The Movie was called Sphere. It is an adaptation of a book written by Micheal Chricton by the same name. (I know I mispelled his name)

Sounds like an interesting movie. =) Have to watch it sometime. How was the Anubis featured in it ?

Also, I think the Anubis was a deity in ancient Egyption mythology; if I remember right, he was supposed to bring the souls of those who died to be judged.

Anubis was the god of the dead until Osiris took over that position, after that anubis became known as one of the sons of osiris

Anubis was a god with the head of a Jackal, and he was the main subordinate to Osiris. And as such, he was charged with maintaining order in the Underworld. He was also the guardian of the cities of the dead. He was the benevolent usher of the dead. But he was more than that. He was a Watcher, a being who possessed murdurous knives and cruel fingers. He and Horus would slay those who followed Osiris. So that's the deal with Anubis.
