It's not a bug. It's the object that creates the rings. You can find similar objects in other places that have rings.

like at that one ring near the shikoku prison base?

whats that ring near the sikoko prision there for? is there supposed to be a planet there cause all i see is the prison and the battle ship

There has been posts on this before, but this thread has pretty much covered it.
The unknown object(s) are the centre of the rings (same object), that's why you can't select the rings near the prsion base etc...
And also, flying into a sun isn't the best way to find out what something is, one tiny flaw might be that you'll be dead before you get there, especially in a binary star system like Tau-37!
