Well i've taken another look at Aaron Conners's personal information page at the ezboard. Under the recent posts section is the same dead link that is within the contrversial post/letter from above. His other recent posts seem to hint at his profession at MS and date back a WHILE. So let us recapitulate.

1. We know the now dead link to the FL2 letter was active at one time because no one on the tech board said otherwise. (This rules out falsefying information, i.e. taking the original letter of Aaron and adding false info)

2. We know that the name Aaron Connors existed a long time at the ezboards, before the FL2 letter was written. Because the recent posts section reveals this. (This rules out some one creating a name just to announce another FL2 and BF2 game)

3. We can tell, if you guys take a look at his recent posts(hyperlink above) and perform a search at the ezboards with his name for older posts, that he seems fairly legit.

4. We know for a fact that Aaron Connors works for MS(see above post).

5. We know Aaron Connors can't lie about a game being developed if it is not (although the contrary is true).

Conclusion:
The ONLY way this could possibly all be a hoax is that some one, created a fake conversation at the tech boards using *looks at page and tries to find # of participants* 7! different screen names (because then the afore mentioned point 1 would be refuted, meaning he could have concealed the fact that the FL2 letter never contained the FL2 sentence). Not to mention all the research the poster would have to do on well everthing .Which is necessary to make the story, in its entirety, seem so sound. This, if you ask me, is not probable!

until i see fl2 news from a legit gaming news post, i still think its fake

No offense, but i highly think this is fake. At the top - you say people can make their own decisions. We haven't seen the original source - only you have. The original source doesn't exist.....so we will never know if that source really did exist at all anyways!!.

All we know is the post on the site that says it tells you what other posts are about. Furthermore - you have only got four posts to your name, and all four are in this thread.

So - you joined especially to tell us, but you would know about this site BEFORE posting here as well - but why didn't you register to participate in other discussions or to tell us other news. You haven't joined in any other threads, and only this one is posted in. Now - you said poeple can make their own decisions, but you keep on spelling out all your evidence for why this must be true, and why we should believe it.

Another nail is that this Radishes thread is HIS first, and ONLY thread on those forums as well - which means HE joined JUST to tell them all the good news as well. He also has not discussed anything else apart from his four posts in that thread alone as well.

Well - no offense, but i could point out that this could have been fabricated by yourself, after you have researched stuff and more. You know - found that this conners works for MS, fabricated a story about what he has "said" in a none existant thread.....next, posted that as news on two sets of fourms.....you get the drift...

Now - I know thats not really true huh, but then again, its possible....isn't it - you know, from the evidence there - its possible (highly improbable)

Well your right chips, I hadn't considered me being the foul factor. But I guess that should be a possibility for the persons on the other side of my monitor. As for radash -dont know him. I apologize if it came over like i was holding everybody's head in a barrel of water and yelling: "You must believe, by god you must!" and Mccoy going: "Jim they're dead, let go!" (ok i'll shut up) Make your own mind up. As for me joining: I joined because I thought the possible eveidence of a new game was reason enough to join and tell everyone about. There are a lot of people that just hang around, download the mods and look for news you know, without joining. Then when they need something or have something exciting to talk about that requires a membership, join. Anyway, the day news of a new game is released I'm drinking a bottle of champain.

Oh and I too never saw the original letter.

Hey ~Corsair#01~, bragard, didn't use spell/grammar to tinker with your witty post? I'm certain you used it as you pride yourself in being a fanfic writer while feeling the obligation to point out other people's spelling errors. Just forgot to use it on the comment preceding your story (probably because only the story was was written in Word, then copy/pasted), huh? Of course it's also unfortunate grammar check doesn't count on persons making a mistake like "was own a ship", or perhaps you just forgot to activate it? In contrast, it took me 15 min. to write my longest post, without spell/gramm. check.
Why you ask? Becasue I simply dont care when posting in a forum, in fact, I dont think anyone other than you does.

I have checked out the info in this thread out several times, and I have come to the conclusion that everyone needs to make up their own mind. I hope for a Freelancer 2, just as I hope for Windows XP Reloaded, and I hope and hope and hope...................

However Insults, I think everyone agrees, are most discomforting when being allowed to let sit on one's self. (So blame me for not taking someone's one-word-hinthint-lilylivered crap)

After all the speculation here, including by me, I have to admit I was surprised when I got through to Aaron Connors this afternoon on the phone. He is a real person, he really works for Microsoft Game Studios here in Salt Lake City. That's the encouraging news.

However, Connors told me there is nothing he can add to his original post under discussion here. At one time he was indeed talking to Digital Anvil about Freelancer 2, discussing story ideas. That relationship has been discontinued because DA "decided to go in a different direction."

"I'm bugging out. I don't like the idea of being MOWED DOWN."

Kewl.....I wonder if that means DA decided to go with a different story (consulting different people) or if they discontinued the freelancer 2 project all together?

Ahh the ambiguity!
