Are there any mods that let you pilot a Battle Cruiser?

Yes there is. There is a mod that allows you to piolt the Oriris that comes with FL mod manger.

Just a note I tried it, and they're hard to use.

just do a search for pilotable battleship, or even just battleship and youll get more hits than youll know what to do with

Try the DP Mod. You can buy capital ships of any house at any of their military shipyards... for over $30 Million credits... but you need at least a level 30 rating to buy em.
