FLRebalance?????

FLRebalance?????

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I `can`t seem to an answer anywere so here goes.

Is FL Rebalance suitable for Single Player mode with or without the story line active or is just a Multi-player MOD.

Also if it is single player MOD what other Mods can be used with it in a single player game. IE what other MOD have you used with it that did not cause any problems.

It's great for SP. I use the speed mod and OpenSP with it.

I have downloaded FLRebalance 3.40 and also the two patch files for it and installed them into FL Mod Manager. The thing is that when I go to activate it it them comes up in the Manager with the two patch files in red and the OpenSP also in red.

Am I right in thinking that anything in red in the Mod Manager will not work right. If so how do I play Rebalance in Open SP? also with the patches that come up red aswell?

They come up red because the two addons modify entries already modified by v3.40 final. First go to the Freelancer folder and run ModSettings.bat. Then run FLMM and activate Rebalance, then the two addons -- say 'yes' to the warnings. I noticed you hadn't gotten the 2.1 update (no I was unaware of them either), but it's too late to worry about this since Dan has said they'll ALL be packaged together in v3.5. No I don't know when that is coming out (I check the Rebalance forums regularly) but there should be an announcement in the Rebalance forums here too. Btw you should post mod-specific questions in the mod's forums instead of this general one since they are here

Technically, you can run the ModSettings batch file after you've activated the mod (notice the attrib command on line 2) but I'm not sure if that works, and I don't know whether attrib is still supported in win2k/XP. Safer to get the settings right before you activate the mod.

Edit: D'oh, forgot the other part of your question. Yes, the mod runs in SP campaign OR OpenSP -- you don't have to activate the OpenSP mod that comes with FLMM (no need to download it separately either), when you run the ModSettings batch file it will ask you if you want to play SP Campaign or OpenSP.

8) I have been using the flrebalance 340 mod and the updates and fixes but it seems that the game still crashes randomly especially if you are in the middle of a dogfight using one of the new ships such as the defiant or the hawkeye.

Any Suggestions?

I've played 1001BeforeFreeport7 and Broken Oath for 20+ hours each without problems. They both have rebalancing and let you play single player. Hostile Universe sounds promising but there are problems with random crashes, so I would avoid this one until the probs are fixed.

Yet i have used these ships in smaller mods such as the federation ship pack without any crashes. Maybe the "all" bugs in the flrebalance series should be eliminated first before adding anything else.

i've played rebalance from 2.1 to 3.5 (persistent, isn't it? ) and works just fine for sp campaign. Iv'e misses few triggers or got the "isdf?" problem, but got them solved with a previous savegame or a reinstall. love this mod, especially for nomad torpedo and, later, quantum torpedo (no effort killing annoyng hard-to-get targets). go to earth's system and find on mars star treck ships or big weapons on moon and earth. it's worhing.
300+ hours sp different mods... persistent little moron, am i?
