Computer is cheating in game!!!

When I'm near the destroy ship computer cheats and the enemy ship's hull damage reduced and the missiles that I fired do a little damage(normally that missile destroy the ship at once). Always like this in every type of ship and enemy (also the shield of enemy ship regenerate after the hull damage reduced. Like it uses a shield batery. But when I look into the cargo of the enemy ship,I see ship doesn't have any shield battery or nanobots)

its cause your hitting a Equipment Hardpoint on the ship, alter you aim to do more damage or kill it.

Man, thats shocking. I mean, really unfair! Your computer is actually gaining an advantage over you, which is not at all right!! I say you should show that comp who is boss! Tell it, go to the dos prompt and type in "I AM THE BOSS!!!". Usually the computer will throw some sort of answer at you, like " 'I' is not a recognised internal or external command, program or operable batch file" or some rubbish, but DON'T YOU LET IT!!! Its trying to say that it doesn't recognise your authoritaaaeee! Tell it more "I OWN you" - thats a good one. It may give you the same, so tell it "YOU are a pile of components, I LIVE!". It will probabily resist even more with the same old "you" is not an operable command. STAMP YOUR AUTORITAAAEEE on it now!!! DO it, tell it some more! Eventually if you persist, it will crack, and you will have gained back command. Congratulations, you just showed it whose boss, it won't cheat no more - it will visibly tremble when you turn it on. Screen flickers - those are the signs of a computer who recognises its boss!!! SHOW IT NOW!!

Pinger,
do you think it works? Becuase I use evolutions mod and before the using mod there is no cheating like this

Post Sat Apr 03, 2004 5:00 am

Ah, if your using Evo, they do use sheild bats and nano bots. They may have just used them when you scan, as EVERY ship has got them in cargo (nano bots and sheild bats that is).

Not only that, but if you notice on your own ship, when you lose your shields, they will come back by themselves without needing batteries after a bit of time. You just have to wait for it. It's the same with the enemy in Chips' Evolutions mods. They can regain their shield without batteries if you don't kill them fast enough.

lol, having npcs regen in multiplayer has been around for over a year, back when servers were first running it it wan't even a player side mod. But personally I don't think giving the npcs the same abilites you have isn't it cheating against you, just leveling the playing field a little.

I just wish they could get regenerating shields, like ours, instead of "batting it up" after you miss them for a while.

@History Buff,

If you play something like Rebalance, they have just that. Makes it a lot more fun

Someone else

Most mods now have shields regenerating and using nano bots/shield bats. Mine used to regenerate alot quicker, but alot complained that 1.26 was so hard. I actually got really angry emails that they would never play anything made by me again, cause i made things too difficult. Now everyone is increasing the difficulty of the mods more, as finally poeple are finding a challenge to play the game MORE exciting.
