No precise date is given. But the sleeper ships left our solar system in the 23d Century AD. "And "that was 800 years ago ..." So the game is in the 31st Century AD (terrestrial time). From various rumours and messages, it would seem the game is taking place around 801 to 804 AS (After Sleepers).

listen. Nobody knows what is really is. the Sirius sector is way to huge for it to be anywhere near Sirius A-B binary star system, because if it was, our solar system would be on the map. FP9 is HUNDREDS OF LGIHT YEARS away from any other base or planet. I think they mgiht of accidently gone a few hudnred years too many. And the crow nebula is millions of light years away. as well as the barrier liek one I beleive. I'll look it up.
