visible coding??

On mostly all of the screens that have text on them (weapon/ship/comodity stats. the multiplayer option window (where it says LAN or internet) all have their HTML type scripting visible. It wouldnt be much of a problem but i cant see any of the stats of the ships, does anyone know how to fix this?

I've had this error when I was altering the text resources using fled-ids. What happens is that if you alter any of the precoded XML text strings, the game then omits the first character. So if this has arisen as a result of altering the dlls, just go back and put a nonsense character in front of the ones you've changed

tried that too =(. where can i find the files you were talking about? i notice the XML strings have a ? in them like <?XML etcetcetc> im thinkin the questionmark is screwing it up, is there a way to manually change that?

No, the ? is meant to be there, it's in all the text resources. You could manually do what I said and put the nonsense character in front but there are about 200,000 text strings...you get the idea. My only other thought of what it can be is something to do with the way your computer handles XML scripts. Although I'm getting in over my head here. Anyone had and solved the same problem?
