You must be on friendlier terms????

Ok, I'm trying to get the sabre on malta but it says i need to be on friendlier terms with them. I'm up to just one little block empty on the friendliness meter, and no one seems to get past that. So, how the heck do i get more!?!?!?!

Try doing a few missions for them. Works for me.

I've beend doing missions for them for about a day now, still no difference. Is there some sort of editing I can usse to increase it or something?

Shoot their enemys, about 6 of them will bring you up 1/2 block in favor.

So, none of you have ever had a problem with the meter stoping one block short of being full? That's what my problem is, not just that it needs to be higher, that it won't go any higher than where it is right now (1 block short of full)

Check their rating on your meter at the top right of the screen and it will show all they are hostile with and shooting them will get you that block over a short time.

Ok, Finalday, I'm happy to know that there are helpful people like you out there, but I know how to increase reputation, I know how to check reputation. My problem is that it just wont go any higher. No matter how many bounty hunters I kill my Outcasts reputation just wont go up that one last block. Its the same for a bunch of other factions. Could it be the fact that I'm running a mod?

If you are running a mod, and Really want the rep increased, use the Ioncross Char editer. With it you can change the rep with ANY faction you want. Save the game in any name other than autosave. and it will find it to open.

yup, the problem is the mod... I got a saber easily with an unmodded FL in Malta.

iirc my rep won't go all the way aswell. Still I get to buy the sabre. You can get it as soon as you're friendly. Maybe even as soon as you're neutral, but I'm not to sure about that.

Are you running any mods?
What DirectX version do you have?
Have you installed the official patch V1.1 (from the MS site, don't do it, it screws up your game)

Just a few things that might cause your problem.

You were gone?

Edit: Damn spelling.

Most peculiar. The "friendly" bar doesn't go any higher than that. As suggested, mod probs?

p.s. The Red Hessians get their ships from the Outcasts, and you buy get a Sabre from them too.

Even when unmodded, the friend meter or enemy meter doesn't go beyond that limit. You can kill as many Hogosha as you want, and there'll still be one empty block on the enemy meter.

One of the stupidest messages I got in the game was in Tobias' shop, where I tried to buy something and was told on had to be on "friendlier terms". Huh? Tobias is the guy what raised me! How much friendlier can I get with him?

That's happened to me a few times, actually. My recommendation- buy a Titan/Eagle. Your problem is to my knowledge, unfixable.

I am new here. I have played this game thru about 8 times and I actually did get a full block once from the LSF. Only once. But that dropped to the usual 1-short-of-full in the very next mission.
