Restarting the FL experience - Quick Questions

I just picked up FL at the store for a mere $20 and am about ready to replay the entire SP campaign. I remember playing it off of a friend's CD for about a week straight back when it first came out, and then tinkered with MP but never got into it. I am just jumping back into the FL community and have a couple of questions.

Did anyone ever come up with a mod that randomized market prices? I remember finding or reading about the best routes, and then giving up after the SP game was beaten, because there really wasn't any more challenge. I could just run that most profitable 15 minute route to get any number of cash, and I remember really yearning for a SP game that had a random - if not dynamic - pricing thing in place.

In terms of open-endedness, what is the best or most fufilling mod I should think about installing and playing? I am probably going to go back throught the whole SP campaign just to get re-acquainted with all the systems, etc, but as soon as I beat that I know I'm gonna be wanting more. Any advice?

To the best of my knowledge, it is impossible to make a randomised market for freelancer, the engine just can't do it. If you want to play SP without the campaign after you've beaten it, there is the open SP mod which eliminates the campaign and lets you go on your merry way from Manhattan. Apart from that there are the numerous other mods that add a lot of content for MP and SP.

I liked the Freelancer Massive Addon by Tygrys but I haven't seen much of that lately. It added quite a few new systems. Currently, though, Rebalance is my favourite, with a few extra things I put in myself

Freelancer: Evolutions
It's brilliant. It completely revolutionises gameplay and adds quite a few ships/systems too. There a new version coming out in about a week which adds a whole new house Check the Pathfinders Studios forum to find out more.
Fl Reblance and the Massive Addons are pretty sweeeeet too

T.E.M.P Mod is indeed possibly the best mod out just now since it doesn't turn Freelancer into a n00bed Cross over with pure Shadow hips and Star wars and it is actually beliveable with the items/systems added.

(Nothing against TCs but mods like Rebalance and TNG are really bad for the ships used)

So far the best FL experience, in my opinion, is offered by the Real Space 2.2 Mod by Louva-Deus. At least for the SP missions. The changes made are logical. Better lighting and shading, bright green and red lights on the trade lanes, beefed up NPC's with better equipment, differing thruster speeds for light n heavy fighters.

I played the evolutions mod and it's real good too. I don't think it works well for the SP campaign though. It's very, very difficult to get a new ship after the StarViper you start with. The viper is a real fun ship to fly but you'll not find a replacement at any of the old haunts anytime soon. I'll not say where to find the couger, hunting for a replacement is part of the fun. Still, evolutions does some great stuff with their mod and I'll bet it's KA on multiplayer. The NPC's are a real challenge and there's oodles of new ships out there. Check it out.
