Manhatten and Cardimine

I was wondering why the price on Cardimine is so expensive in New York space, until I had a brainstorm. Since every pilot in the universe comes out of Manhatten, that means that most of the pilots that fail or quit end up on Manhatten. All these failed pilots push up the prices on drugs.

Or it could be because Liberty has the stricktest regulations.

How is Liberty the weakest? I wouldn't say there's really any one weakest House. Except perhaps Bretonia... they're kinda lamey and pacifistic. Rheinland certainly has some of the biggest guns, and Kusari seems fairly prosperous.

Liberty the weakest ha! the police are only so crap becuase it is where you start off so it is bound to be not "very hard" because at that time you and your pathetic ship are crap! somebody should make a mod to make them better because really liberty is a strong house (and lets face it the Rouges are utter rubbish)

Therefore i am

High Demand + Low Supply = High Prices

Simple economics formula.

Liberty gets only official pharmacuticals from cryer. So as it has such a low underground trade, those that do get it are bound to get a good price.

Borderworlds have plenty of access to cardamine as it is so freely avaliable - its all about supply and demand

Cardamine is expensive in Manhattan because the planet is an entire city. Also if you read the news at a number of bars many people with independent means from around the colonies want to live there. Thus Cardamine is a commodity for the well to do in Sirius.

Or it could that since you have to travel all the way from Malta to Manhattan they had to give it a high price to justify you going half way across the Galaxy for it. Just a thought.

Yeah its the distance thing, as with all the trade routes. The further you have to go the more money you seem to get.

That is unless you do the New London - Omega 5 run....2 system jump with 600-1200 cr profit/unit. Run small firearms from Planet New London, through Cambridge to the Omega 5 jump hole. Sell guns at CADIZ (Corsair station), buy Alien Artifacts run back through to Cambridge to Planet New london.....

Of course that means you have to be on both the Bretonia Police/Navy's good side as well as the Corsiars... (there are REd Hessians abound in Omega 5 so be ready to fight!). Not easy to do...but BRIBERY gets you far

I make about $450,000 credits a run this way
