There is no mention of any replacement Chancellor after Niemann (thought that doesn't mean there isn't one), only newly appointed government officials.

We don't really own this place, just break a few arms if we have to - Bounty Hunter Mitch Murphy, Bonn Station.

Heh, maybe "a faction" will develop Inter-system warp by then and use their newfound power to warp in and take over Rheinland.

Well, according to the fanfic I have in the works, Von Claussen shows up as the less-psychotic, more moderate politician and wins the election against Niemann's immediate successor (vice-chancellor, or what have you).

Yep, but I was hoping folks would give some more opinions. Personally, I think von Klausen would rather stay out of the limelight. But he is friends now with the Liberty President. He also probably has to much integrity to be a politician.
