Ok.....this post is kinda spooky

Before I might have said it was perhaps a bad idea to remove the ban. However, looking at this and other forums, they are awfully quiet in comparison to how it was when I started. And some of the newbies have been kicked around plenty by the regs so now we don't have that new life to our forums as they didn't want to deal with those newbie issues.

The only exciting forum right now is Off-Topic. Though Freelancer Discussion and General Editing do fairly well ... still they have been better.

I say let them discuss stupid things, if it means they grow some familiarity with the site.

We notice. This is a strange way to tell us, btw. Just email one of the mods. Now about the best ship threads, the ban is there for several reasons, but the primary one is to protect newbies from the snobbish regulars who think that they know everything and refuse to see more, and they only became spamming ground. None of these have occured, so we make exceptions....

I have to go with Spectre on this, I am still a relative n00b to Freelancer and TLR, but it has become quieter, even in the length of time I have been here.

Maybe it is time to ‘give the new guys a break’

I am no noob to Freelancer. Nor these forums really, because I have read almost every post, and have been reading them for over a year, but I never really had time to post before now. I've seen what best ship threads can become. On another site, one became worse than some of the Neo threads on this site. However, I too have noticed it quieting down, and I agree, that newbies should be given a chance to post about the best ship. however, I would recommend that a close eye be kept on them. I'm a admin on a site and I've seen what things like that can become.

all these ppl who say that the forums are quieter than b4 well to b fair you would expect that, the same thing happened with the starlancer forums (back in the days when i only read what was put and never voiced my opinions) they slowed down as the games popularity dropped and the same thing is happening again, i wuldnt be suprised if in 6 months the forums here where down to the real hardcore people posting, asall the n00bs will have been bashed about in to fear of posting and people will just move on to newer games, just the way of the world really

the problem is that search has been taken away and most noobs wont take the time to look for previous threads so they post another new one

have you ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Bud Light???????

@Niquest

I have read almost every post, and have been reading them for over a year, but I never really had time to post before now.

How can you read almost every post and not have any time to post? Sounds like you have too much time. Although I give you credit for reading prior to posting which is something few do.

Anyway, welcome. Or should I say, good to know you're there.

On another site, "one" became worse than some of the Neo threads on this site.

What board are these "stupid" posts are on ? . The MGS3 Board on GameFaq's or your site ?.

And by the way, all my posts aren't stupid, I've helped various newbies with their questions , so if you think someone who helps noobs is below you, you ain't going to make many friends here at all. Also since I'm "worse" than a regular poster , don't reply to my posts then if you don't like them.

To all others who didn't flame me, I was tired when I posted the Original Post and I was also bored. If it seemed quirky , it was. Thanks for your "no-flame" replys to my crazyness by the way. Thnx

Out of curiousity, has anyone ever done a Worst Ship thread?

I think so, try a search on it with the revived search function. Just don't dig up 100 day + old threads, or will they all be locked I wonder....
