Another What is the best Sp (storyline)Mod?

hiya.

I loved the game when i finished it the first time... but it was a bit easy.

since then i've tried a couple of mods and found some to be quite entertaining,

this was a couple of months ago.. now i'd like to try the game again (i love space simulation, i still play Frontier) and i need a mod that changes stuff a bit ... just a bit so it gets more interesting... and harder..

I've browsed the forum for a post that would help me with this issue but i didn't find any that were very interesting...

Is Serious Sirius something for me?

anyway, i hope there is some ppl out there who have the same taste as i and can answer this question.

Welcome to TLR etc. Don't start any "Best Ship", "Best Weapon" or "Where can I find Weapon/Ship "X" ? " topics and you should be fine. On the same topic, there are sticky's in the spoiler forums which deal with weapons/ships etc and so on. Okay, now my rant is over, onto the topic at hand ......

I'd try TNG (The Next Generation) mod,it has new ships/new accessories/new weapons etc. Just don't expect to fight in the nexus in the beginning of the storyline. Freelancer Evolutions is at the moment the best add-on mod available and I would reccomend you download it and try it, as Chips put quite alot of effort into it.

Before you ask what's the best multiplayer mod, it depends on what your taste's are. The Star Wars Total Conversion mod is quite a good one. REMEMBER that only use mods on servers that allow you to, otherwise you're giving yourself an unfair advantage a.k.a cheating.

Does the storyline end after you use the artifact on the nomad home world?

Yes, it does. But you didn't hear that from me because this ain't the spoiler's forum . Ask these sort of these things in the spoiler forum in the future, okay ?.

as stated above, evolutions v 1.27 is great, well thought out and well planned, loads more options and increased diffculty - enemy use nanbots & shield batteries a lot more - in my book it turns freelancer into the game it should have been in the first place.
BIG THANKS TO CHIPS!
v 1.7 isn't bad, i haven't got too far, i'm afraid the sight of Trent in sunglasses put me off a bit! still good tho, some wonderfully designed ships (you'll have to wait and see), a very professional mod.

all available from the download centre here @ TLR

happy hunting

The only problem I have with revolution is that they decreased cargo space by so much!!, I mean they give my Titan only 15 cargo space as compare to 70 before.

I also find a bug, or if this is a bug. On Manhattan I got a mission that has reward of 250K and it tells me to destroy enemy in one of the debris field, but when I fought off the first wave of Rouges, the second waves consists of 4 battleships, and one of them got stuck in the debris field and the other three are fly about speed 300/h away from me, after I destroyed the first one I went to chase the other 3 that are so far away from me, when I got to them the mission commission tells me that I have 30 seconds to get back to mission space otherwise I will lost. So I went back and the enemy about 6k away from me, I just sit there with nothing to do. So I just want to ask, what the hell!!!

And why are the battleships moves so fast with so few turning radius?

heh. thanx for the tips.. then i'll get started downloading the HUGE mods with my 56k modem.. (hehe)

this is why i dont play online. i hate lag.

anyway.. how much harder is the game with TNG, evololutions? since this is the biggest disapointment with the game... i find it too easy...

Evolutions v1.27 is nicely improved - plot missions are about the same, sometimes a bit harder, sometimes easier (one of the new mods is increased firepower on most ships, including friendlies..as an example i died last night from friendly fire, a transport i was escorting caught me with a couple of shots and toasted me, but when i replayed the mission it all went perfectly ) but the biggest difference is the random fights - improved AI, they ALL have nanobots and shield batteries...makes for more involved dogfights...it just has some really nice touches, all enemy ships seem to have better weaponry, and know how to use 'em...you start with a better ship than in the normal game but that isn't a bad thing, and the selection of new ships available in Liberty is a very nice touch - as is the upgrades you WILL need to carry out ( i won't say anymore, you'll love it).
hope it won't take you to long to download, start with Freelancer Mod Manager from the TLR download centre...the one I use is FLMM 1.2 beta 9, you're not supposed to use it with v1.7 but i had crash issues with the FLMM 1.2 finished version (probably just me ). anyway, either should work fine with 1.27.
My favourite touch is the luxury liner, available from one of CHIPS's new systems...

Thanx again, CHIPS!
