Yeah, that's the cross fire key. It fires all weapons in the current direction they're facing (I think). It's in the FAQ. I haven't found a good use for it.

I hope its something like in the "The Last Star Fighter" movie when he uses something like this taking all ships sourounding him including big battleship.
of course this cross fire is more useful for frighters in FL.

it was called death blossom. while it did take out all the fighters, the command ship plowed into a moon after the gunstar grand slammed four missiles into the forward section.
(sigh) gunstar...that would be a nice addon...

I just prefer to use the "H" key (Turret Mode) to cover my back while going into a tradelane. Interesting find, though.

Another interesting thing is if you hit tab to put your thrusters on and then hit F1 to pause, and then resume the game, your thrusters will go without you having to push tab. It frees up your other hand for some of the story line missions where the only way to survive is to run arround madly like a chicken with its head cut off. Also, with mods that give you thrusters that max out over 400, it acts like a second (and better) cruise engine. --- VH16

That trick also works with the chat (default [Enter) key in Multiplayer.
