Lucky break

How did Trent and the others survive Freeport 7? There didn't appear to be any life pods launched, and the station looked pretty well walloped. How then did he (and conviently the dom kavash thingy*) get off Freeport 7 intact? It doesn't make any sense. --- RR16

*Technically not a spoiler because by the time this term is used in the game, the player knows all about the thingy and Freeport 7

Um, a lifepod IS launched, RR. If you watch the right side of the screen after Freeport 7 is finished exploding, a lifepod floats by. It makes a sound too.

Michael King is the name of somebody in my school... seriously.

The people in FL have very limited vocabularies, most of them speak the same also, with the same voices... yes I know one guy is British and the other is Japanese but who's keeping track, eh?

Is that the thing that nearly takes your head off? I'll have to play the intro again and pay more attention to it.

Also, when Trent lands afterward, you hear that the survivors were in an escape pod.

I can confirm what Doran said. It is cilindric, has red lights all around and comes tumbeling past after the explosion.

I agree, it took me a few times to notice it. They should have made it more obvious.

I'm sorry if I seem mean or insulting but...

How can you miss it?!

It's huge and it flies right across the screen!

I assumed that was simply a structural component of Freeport 7. It resembles a storage device more than a life pod. Also, there was never an order given to abandon the station, so how did Trent have time to reach it? A command for action or battlestations (I forget which) was given, but that was seconds before the station's destruction. --- RR16

I agree. It's not that obvious. I also thought at first that it was a part of FP7. Only when you start to wonder how they got of FP7 (rescueteams recovered an escapepod, listen to the news) you check the intro again and you suspect it's that strange thingy floating by, but you're not realy sure. This is actually the first time I can confirm this.

God this is going to sound stupid coming from a person of my rank, but what exactly is spamming? I haven't really seen a clear example of it, although I have a general idea. Please help, and don't flame. --- VH16

Ignorance is bliss, so why am I so damn sad?

It's alright RR...err...VH16...

Spamming (in my opinion, of course) is just the posting of information that repeats and does not elaborate previous information or is not relevant to the topic (related stuff is okay, just nothing like what Ryan100 or other spammers post). Or, read my sig:

there is apparently a widespread myth among users that "spamming" is what happens when you dump cans of Spam into a revolving fan.

Post Fri Dec 19, 2003 5:01 am

BTW ¡¡¡ViveHispaña16!!!, there were two threads comprised almost completely of Spam in the Off Topic forum. They were named "SPAM" and "SPAM 2" , they should be down the page a bit. It also shows what happens when you spam and the mods find out you're in the deep end. An example would be :

Ryan100: I'm just posting this to raise my rank

Ryan100: Hello (Insert three happy smilies of your choice)

And so on , but Ryan100 got banned (I think). Unfortunatly in all the forums I've been to there seem to be idiots who make an example of themselves to get attention. Unfortunatly they usually get it by people posting, telling them to stop it. The only way I can think around this is the mods locking the thread immediatly. To bad they can't be like oracles and detect when a bad topic/ spam topic is about to pop up.
