continuing the story line intact????

I've already played it through but was wondering....is it possible to take a "break" from the story line in order to gain credits and better ship. I would like to use the "Eagle", but seems there isn't time between Juni's calls to arms, to make the creds and pruchase the ship. Anyone know what happens if you "pass" on a mission for her( after the ashcroft thing of course) ???

Well, you can pass on the missions, but you can't get the Eagle. That's level restricted and you ain't a high enough level to get it during the storyline.
At the later missions you have no choice then to accept, but those are only the last few missions.

oh, and Juni calls you when you reached a certain amount of "Net Worth". Check F8 and see how much you need to go up a level. When you level up, she will call you. It's not time restricted

have fun.

If you pass a mission, Juni waits patiently in the same bar for you to come back and accept it. For many missions, they give jump gate access and level ups, so it's necessary to do them. Plus, if you chose not to do the story line, you miss some of the coolest sh*t in the game. --- RR16

Basically, you need to continue the storyline in order to play the game to it's full length. But you can do it at your own pace.
That's what makes Freelancer unique

I thought it real stupid when I figured out that I can never get the Eagle, Titan or Sabre in SP. What are they there for?

(Especially when I made that long trip to Freeport 9 in the Anubis for nothing, almost got cooked)

The people in FL have very limited vocabularies, most of them speak the same also, with the same voices... yes I know one guy is British and the other is Japanese but who's keeping track, eh?

@Doran: Who or what gave you the idea you couldn't get the Titan, Sabre or Eagle in SP?
I mean seriously, if I find that guy, I'm gonna twhack him, because that's so besides the truth.

You can get the Titan, Sabre and even the Eagle in both SP and MP, it just takes you a while before you reach the apropriate level. Level 32 I think for all three of them. So don't give up hope.

Eagle will be easier than other two vessels, as it's civillian.

You can get the high level ships in SP, but not during the Campaign. They are there for when you finish the campaign and continue to play, or for Multiplayer (I got a Sabre in just over 3 hrs . Yay me.). You cannot use anything higher than level 16 during the campaign.

EDIT: Ack, methought this was spoiler forum. Must rewrite...

MP freelancer has no storryline, so if you don't feel like doing it (and missing some very nice computer generated movies) then check out a server. I still like SP better for reasons allready mentioned. Foremost among them, people suck. --- RR16

Well, you CAN buy any of the heavy fighters in SP, including the top Level 10 ones. But you have to be a higher pilot level than you can reach until the SP story line is over.

I suppose doing the missions in a Sabre, Eagle or Titan would be too easy. Great for exploring the universe though. So is a Hammerhead.
