I'm currently playing the game with a Patriot. I use a shieldkiller and a missile and two "ordinairy" guns. I get by with it.

I've done several high level missions with a Patriot against outgunned/numbered/classed enemies Either with or without help and I've managed to stay alive a fair number of times. Of course I died just as often
(Edit: This was on a Frost Works Level 2 server where NPC's regenerate their shields and you can get 245k missions on Manhattan )

I think a pack of well armed patriots (the most agile fighter in the game btw ), flown by able players can take on a pack of Sabres flown by NPC's. Even a few good pilots in starfliers can do a lot of damage. They just can't pack as much punch as a Patriot.

I must say I never flown a Dagger. I might try that soon.

Try the Colonial Viper mod. That thing is sooooooooooooooo reactive. It'll turn on a dime, go 200 on it's thrusters, and comes with 2 level ten 8.47 refire rate cannons. It'll fly cirlces arround Patriots, if you can control it. By the way, new Battlestar Gallactica kicks a*s! --- RR16

No, The patriot is the most agile ship in the game. Maybe the drake ties, but I don't know.
There has been a list with wich ships are the most agile ships and the Patriot was at #1. Followed by the Starflier.
The Drake is either #1 with the Patriot or #2 with the starflier.

It's interesting how you can't buy the starflier anywhere. Once Juni gives you one, that's it. Wasn't such a bad little craft either, it got the job done (besides, where do all these factions get them?) --- RR16

Well. if you think about it Heavy Fighters and light Fighters are to what i believe are eveenly matched, thats if they are being flown by talented "pilots". Light Fighters are fast and manuverable and pretty sturdy for thier class, and HF and VHF are powerful, they can withstand quite a beat down and they can carry top of the line weaponry. But i guess people have have different tatse in the ships they fly so whatever suits you is your decision, As for me I like the VHf and Heavy Fighters, especially the top notch Sabre.

The best offense is a good defense, except in FL. While a speedy Patriot will only allow her attacker 2 or 3 hits, in a fully tripped out sabre or eagle that's all it's gonna take. Perhaps if they had better sheilds they'd stand a better chance. --- VH16
