Guns from wrecks

Hi im new to this site, but have been playing FL for about 30 odd hours now, and i was wondering if there was any way off transfering the guns u get from wrecks straight into your gun slots ? without having to sell the guns first and then rebuy them.

Cheers

On a planet/base go to the equipment dealer, and scroll down till you find the weapon(s) you want to mounbt. You must have a free weapon slot before proceeding past this point.

Once you have a free weapon slot, look at the icon on the left of the gun. If the weapon is unmounted, there will be two bits from a jigsaw that are not joined. The jigsaw pieces will be blue if you have a free weapon slot. Click the jigsaw pieces and you will hear a noise, nothing major, its just hard to describe lol. The weapon will then be mounted.

I had the same problem, and I let my m8 borrow the game and he discovered it. It saves selling a Class 10 Weapon, for example CEREBUS, for 36k, then buying it back for 120k.

Hope this helps,

Just make sure your ship can handle the guns you pick up. Sooner or later, you'll be tractoring in some guns which are too powerful for your ship. Also look at the gun mounts. They may be of different levels ... say two mounts of maximum Level 2 and two of Level 3.

If you get some really good higher level guns, hang onto them for later in the game when you'll be able to buy more powerful ships to use them. When you sell a gun, you only get 1/3d -- I think -- of the price it sells for.

On the topics of guns and stuff, is there any actual limit to the number of weapons you can carry unmounted, cause I've got basically every lvl 10 weapon in the game just sitting in my cargo hold and it seems a little strange.

I seem to remember someone saying once that they happily carted around over 100 for a while...so I don't think you need to worry about it...

bizarre programming decision though wasn't it!?!

There is no limit as to how many weapons you can fit in your cargo hold, so long as you're not flying the Nomad Fighter, as each weapon uses up 10 slots in the cargo bay with the Nomad fighter, but surpisingly nothing else!

When you get up to a certain number of guns, something like 290, the game physics (wrong or misguided as it is) kicks in and says that the mass of cargo exceeds the ship mass limit and crashes, generally taking the character with it.

You have been warned....

The biggest guns are not always the best. Sometimes they drain too much energy. Level 8 or Level 9 guns may be more effective, since they can fire almost constantly.

p.s. Take your Titan into the Outcast systems and see how good you are. I got stuck in the Outcast systems for over an hour before I could find my way out. Made a fortune from selling guns I'd sucked in, but was pretty tired by the time I got away. Also lost a gun and part of a wing. Lots of fun though.
