Theres one in maine too.

I think is more like free-port, for anybody to go to. However, as time passes, they get controled by one faction or another and so cease to become free ports. However, if I were told Zoners came from Illinois, i'd believe it

I just looked in an atlas index. So who do ya suppose they named Manhattan after ... the cocktail?

Come to think of it, maybe free port means they're giving away wine.

Freeport, South Africa.

I actually don't think they were named after places - the name just means "Free Base" doesn't it (I like stating the obvious ).

BTW: I live in the UK, not South Africa!

As a freelancer one encounters some strange stuff - in the the end, however, you always remain the strangest thing you are ware of.

I think they were named after places you will find, either that or the game devs were extremely luck in picking names for everything that just HAPPENED to match all city names......

Freeport. The zoners don't have a police force, like to live in 'isolation' and haven't got any real enemies. This means the freeports are a safe haven for crims, somewhere anyone can land if they wish, regardless of rep (well nearly) - so i think the name therefore is driven by the fact that it is a 'freeport' meaning all can land and are welcome
