liberty ale

I had a quick search on the boards, and as far as I can see no-one has pointed this out before....

By now, most of you have heard of the "real life" Cardamine plant - or rather, species of plants....but did you know that Liberty Ale is extremely tasty?

Gromit, you should have brought this up in "Rilmsio's" thread about Ale. We had a three page discussion on it, some of which I used in Zlothello. I had no idea it was real!

sorry guys, I didn't realise myself! I'm a member of CAMRA (the CAMpaign for Real Ale) in the UK, and one of my friends told me mid-pub-conversation the other day.

I think it was a coincedence. If it wasn't, Anvil have done their homework.

Try the Anchor Steam too. It was one of the first nationally recognized and critically acclaimed "small" beers in the USA.

I first tried it in San Francisco. At the time I couldn't decide whether it was as good as it seemed because I also was in SF at the time. Decided later that it is that good.

Because of the thousands of microbrewerys 'round the country, nevn brands like Moose Drool actualy exist.

Do a search. I'm to lazy for linking

@indy I'm in San Fransisco next year (passing through on my honeymoon) so I think I might have to hunt these beers out! (I'm sure my wife won't mind )

@ Gromit:

Well well well. Congratulations to you and best wishes to your bride to be.
I know you've probably planned where you are staying, etc., but check
out this hotel. I managed a free night there on one of the uppermost floors.
The view is breathtaking and I daresay very inspiring for couples.... altho
I daresay honeymooners usually don't need any insipiration.

lol...hmmm ff on my honeymoon....don't think that would go down to well

@indy thanks for the hotel tip - it looks stunning, but I'm not sure I can afford it to be honest! We're spending 4 nights in San Fransisco on the way to Hawaii....its not booked yet (iminent), so if you know of anywhere else we might be interested in please let me know!

There are places to stay closer to the Airport in the Walnut Creek area. You would need either to rent a car or take a car service into the City proper but it is do-able. If you're thinking of being close to but not in SF, I heartily recommend
looking into Half Moon Bay. It is below the City on the Pacific side of the peninsula. Very scenic.
