Not possible (unless in multiplayer where you can hire other human players) all you can do is just avoid the bad guys as much as possible or get on their good side by killing their enemies and bribing them

Protections a novel idea, but until someone nicks FL source code, or there is a expansion, forget it.

uhm... i had a lot off times with smuggling route buffalo base to manhattan some rogeus (mostly 1) who helped me with getting to my destanation...

and he was mostly shot down by manhattan , rn't they fools

a big humpy fighter (bloodhound) escorting a dagger with 35 items off cardamine in his cargospace... but whatever...

i founded that in mp... just by lokking around and lokking to other ships and their was a rogue coming out off the tradeline just after me...

Only way to get any "protection" is to click the formation icon and join a passing convoy. Problem is they'll probably leave you at a jump gate. Also, the bad guys may be neutral with the others in the convoy and just attack you! Sometimes you can travel with the Bounty Hunters too, but they usually aren't going where a trader would want to go.

If you played Privateer II, you remember how you could hire wing men to help you. Doesn't work in Freelancer though. You're basically on your own.

thanks guys just wondering if it was possible. i suppose i will now have to get in and edit the stats for my freigheter so one shot and anything (including battleships ad dreadnoughts) blow up. (laser shot sound) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
