Starlancer/Freelancer Storyline Question!

I just finished playing Starlancer, and as I re-watched the intro film for Freelancer, I realized that the Alliance *lost* the war?! I thought that was kind of strange, since by the end of Starlancer the only news that was spreading was how the Alliance was kicking major ass. Did Chris or Erin Roberts ever send out a little epilogue to the end of Starlancer before Freelancer was released? I just want to know exactly how the Alliance lost the war to the Coalition.

If anyone can help me out with this, I'd be most appreciative.

P.S. Also, if they ever make a sequel to Freelancer, it would be really cool if somehow they went back to Sol to see what happened to the humans that were there. Of course, it would be 800 years into the future, even more if they had to journey back to Sol. I don't know, it would be interesting to have Starlancer and the Freelancer series to come back together, since they were both AWESOME games.

Itd be cool to have a freelancer sequel in the alpha quadrant, but thatd just be the same as starlancer.

From what I gather ethier the coalition rallies and defeats the alliance, or what you see is only a minor victory and over all you are still losing the war, or the war continues for a long time afterwards and the coalltion finally manages to beat back the alliance and claim victory.

The War goes on for hundreds of years, with each gaining and losing ground, until the Coalition finally defeats the Alliance, forcing them to flee.

What'd you expect? America chose Spain as an ally. Spain? Where the hell did that come from? Germany, Briton, and Japan fine, but Spain? --- RR16

Whoever came up with "Mission Commision" should be lined up and shot
