Get the codename weapons by looting wrecks in certain systems. The 32000 credits means how much you need to get to the next level eg if you got 1000 more it would say 31000 instead.

Wrecks are obviously going to be in places where they aren't easy to see. Otherwise, somebody else would have found them! Try looking in dust clouds, asteroid fields, radiation fields etc. And expect there to be bad guys in the area too. Many of the wrecks aren't really hard to find. Others take a lot of looking even when you know where they supposedly are.

Sometimes someone in a bar will offer to sell you the location of a wreck. Happened to me three or four times. At other times, someone may just tell you where a ship disappeared -- giving you the information for free. When hunting wrecks, keep checking the nav map every so often. A red X marking a wreck may appear if you have passed by it and not even noticed it. Wreck hunting can be fun and profitable.
