To smuggle all you have to do is carry a illigal commodity. Like Cardemine, alien artifacts through any house space, or light arms through rouge space.

Thats it. You don't need anything special.

One of the best deals is smuggling artifacts to Manhattan. Cardamine runs to a few places are pretty good too. Nice thing is the cops say something like, "Okay, you've got 10 seconds to drop it!" Meanwhile, you have gone into a trade lane and left the cops far behind.

and if i smuggler i shoot at him and he don't say the "drop"-line anymore, so u can go further without problems... if they scanned u and say the "drop"-ine u have a problem when u escape... co'z after a few seconds all cops know who u r and what ur cargo is...

i smugler mostly cardamine from malta to rochester base, so they can scan me without problems and the most cops don't scan me anymore, but just give me a lot of firework when i come close... the backway i don't have to land to take up an other cargo, but just buy at rochester base liaght arms.

I have done a few smuggling runs, but never been caught.
Well I do have a battleship thruster, so if they catch me in a fighter, out of my Liberty Dreadnaught, I kick in the afterburner, which sends me at tradelane speeds.

As long as you get sufficiently far away before the "caught you" line comes in, things will not turn hostile.
