In terms of exact equal skill and weaponry, yes.

I find it hard to believe that they'd actually make a fighter that's so UN-agile that you can't turn to match your targets... then again, I found it hard to believe that they made the Humpback what it is, either.

dont listen to pretty much anything said here, except for fear factor's "first".

all you need to know about the VHFs is each has there strongpoint

1. the Eagle, anyone whos flown an it will tell its very mobile and can fly circles around the other 2
2. the Sabre, this babies turret can fire forward, effectivly enabling an extra gun=more firepower
3. the Titan, aka the "tank", this one has the highest saftey rating (well... for the pilot anyway) of all the vhfs, because it can haul the most batt/nanos and the thickest hull

well, hope this helps when it comes time to choose for anyone looking to buy a vhf keep freelancing

Knowledge is security... anything else, well... good luck

The biggest plus I found for the Titan were those extra bots you could carry. Go flying around radioactive systems and you'll want all you can get to keep from melting! Some of the really agile ships, such as the Drake, are hoepless in such systems. The hull gets eaten up and they explode in minutes!

I was under the impression that such threads were to be locked...

It is a good point that it depends on your skills, but when you reach the top of the food chain you develop an opinion on the best course of action and it is human nature to share these ideas (for some wierd reason). Anyway, as said before, it boils down to your personal prefferences. There! This thread has served a purpose in reaching that conclusion! Now we must discuss... somthing... else............

We who are about to die salute you!

Hey! Don't dis my Humpy!

Seriously, the Humpback is about Trade Lanes & Turret Mode, NOT dogfighting.
I got the Humpy after Anubis and before Eagle, and it's a whole different type
of flying. I made a Humpback FAQ long ago in Spoilers forum, see that. Note:

Freighter Turn Rate=50
Humpback turn rate=25

as someone said also the titan has low turning ability, the sabre a forward fire turret, the eagle the best agility..

the sabre is made for their defence of cardamine trades, they must can destroy in 1 run.

the eagle is made for defencing traders, they must can dodge a lot.

the titan is made for being the biggest tradeline disrupters and will act mostly as weapon platform that way, so they need more armor and need no good agility at all.

the hammerhead is a ship for what was to less time to completed totaly, otherwhise it would have also class 10 weaps, a better agility, better hull, but the bounty hunters hadn't that time, and needed it as soon as pissible...

u see, all vhf u can buy normaly is maded for their own caracters for their jobs (exc. the hammerhead, to less time to maded it a good fighter (don't say that i need to fly in that thing , co'z i did that already, the dragon is better i would say )).

it's not only, light fighters r made for dodge, heavy fighters to do 1 run shooting and kill inmediate and very heavy fighters to outrule everything, but also something else, like for what do we need a fighter (tradeline disruptor (titan), group defence (all hunters fighters), dodge ability (drake), get cargo fast to specific place (sabre).

Hi all,
Ahh the flamers, ignore them they need changing and get cranky. Best ship is pure personal preferance, also your style of play will influence it. want to go toe to toe, get a Titan, toughest thing in the game, turns like a brick in cold molasses though. Eagle will turn and burn with the best of them but is a bit delicate for some reason and that rear turret is just too strange on both the Eagle and the Titan. Sabre seems to be between em , picture it like thise BB, Cr and the eagle is the BC. I have flown all 3 and I like the Sabre, but make your own choice, just have fun. One thing I believe someone said, if you hit the high Rad areas get a Titan, the AC and the extra bots and shields will be nice.

The advantage of strong armour and high nano capacity is way overrated. Even the class 5/6 ships (especially Drake and Anubis) have enough nano capacity and armour to fly missions in a system like Omega-41 or Omega-11, and the class 6ers are tough enough to raid all wrecks in these systems in a single pass (Crusader has to fly two passes in Omega-11). If you have a class 8 ship or higher then you don't have to worry about radiation anywhere, unless you want to fly scanning patterns in high rad for an hour (in this case a class 9 or class 10 ship is recommended).

If you want to fly missions in a high-rad systems consider using a class 6/7 ship. Radiation repair cost will be at least one order of magnitude lower than for a class 10er (just a few thousand instead of up to $50k or more).

Of course, the Titan does last a few minutes longer in high rad than a Sabre or Eagle, so a Titan Liver could hide in a high-rad zone and hope that the Eagle/Sabre player would go away.

Best ship?? It's Independence,and/or Sith Infiltrator.

So there you have it. Some would say one of the Viagra ships is better, but I have no need for Viagra. Not yet.

Appreciate the information, as I've been looking through threads, mostly reading flames, and the "official" strategy guide, mostly getting bad information (i.e. that a falcon will carry class 10 weapons, etc.).

I think that the Eagle fits my favored play style best, though I'm amazed at the turrent placement ....

I'd note that I found diamondback, jade, onyx and bloodstone guns while running across wrecks that just showed up on my nav map. The "offical" list doesn't catch the half of it.

Now I'm getting ready to run down the various rumors, etc., as soon as I've made enough money to buy an Eagle. I don't see the point in getting a falcon first, and I've got more than enough class 10 guns <g> ...

Wondering what else the official book has wrong. Guess I should read the walk throughs.

What offical book is this? I haven't heard of one, myself...

Please, not post "best ship"- threads.

The're just annoying and makes people "spam", to increase in rank. And as TLR says, all "best ship"- threads, will be locked. Us the "Search Forums"- button, instead.

If you don't like "best ship" threads, then don't read "best ship" threads. That's my best solution.
