Nooby Questions?

Ok, I finished the SP and had alot of fun doing it. So now I have this really cool Order ship Annubis. I want to get back to the Alaska System, but according to the universe map there is only one way in? I hate mines! Is there a way to get in without someone telling me the spolier? I'm looking for hints, things to try, not the answer, that kinda takes the fun out of it?

Second Question: In SP mode once all 13 missions are completed do you have contact with the players you met in the game campaign? Like Juni?

Last Question: My status shows my next level requirement as 'Mission', but I finished all 13, is there a clue as to find out which mission I need to complete?

BTW - I absolutely love this game. Having grown up on Star Trek, Starwars, BattleStar Galactica, it nice to have a game that encompasses some of those elements.

I hate to say it, but Microsoft did good with this one!

...

1. There is a way through the mines just fly past the edge of the field, you'll find it. Also, looking at your map might help, the weaponsplatform positions might give you a hint.
2. Just go and do what you like, you won't be contacted by any of the gamecharacters and you won't run in to them anymore. To bad actually...
3. no mission you need to complete, like I said in no.2 just do as you please.

Have fun!

One more thing. The Alaska jump gate is sealed after you complete the campaign--you need a mod to unlock it.

the "mission" thing you asked about is a popular bug. Do a search on these forums for it for a detailed explanation. Easiest thing to do is just to ignore it, make lots of money and it will go away eventually!

Have fun!

@Gromit: I don't think he meant the Mission bug, just the fact that the game says "Get a mission" when all is over and you're back at Manhattan. That is quite confusing.

@CSX289FIA: You could take on a mission at that point, but if you don't want to, you can just as easily go out there and trade/explore wich is just as exciting.

The Mission-bug Gromit's talking about as a well known one.

Have fun! (oh, I said that allready )

Actually, this reminds me of a question that had occurred to me... once you sell your Anubis fighter, is it at all possible to get another, or is it only available during the storyline?

Better question, after you sell your anubis, why would you want another one?
There are ships that handle much better with almost as much firepower for a price you should be able to afford right after SP.
There are ships with both more handling, armor, and firepower if you have a lot of money.

And no, you can't buy it again.

Not that I do want one... it was just something I was thinking of when the time came to trade up.

I too loved my annubis, but it's like trading your first beat up old car for an upgrade, wrenching but you'll never want to go back ....

If you throw enough mud ..some's gonna stick.

I loved my Anubis ... until I got just by wave after wave of really bad guys flying Sabres. I limped home with both wings gone, only one gun firing, no bats or bots ... and just one square left on my hull integrity! I patched up the old Egyptian bugger and headed off to sell it for something stronger! For most systems, the Anubis a fine ship. But sooner or later you'll find otherwise. (Coolest looking ship though.)

The Anibus can outgun any of the ships that you are able to buy before you finish the campaign, so it is to your advantage to buy one unless you prefer to have a more nimble fighter such as the Drake (or if you like a challenge and want to use one of the lower-level ships--I won in a Dagger recently--very cool ^_-). In addition, it carries 70 cargo, which is more than any non-freighter except the VHF ships that you can't buy till you reach level 30+, and it defends itself better than any freighter. However, it does indeed become obsolete once you can purchase a VHF or a Falcon/Valkyrie/Stiletto.

Thus, the Anibus is in essence a niche fighter--it helps you a lot during the final campaign missions and immediately after you finish the campaign, but it becomes obsolete once you can get the really good stuff.
