If I could change starting ship. . .

Starflier with 2000 credits....what is it with people...they cant stand to play the game how its meant to be played...i say start like everyone else

It's not about changing it, it's about how to make things different and interresting in a new way, to keep things from getting boring.

I'd start with a Titan, that way it would still be dificult, as you can only get level 1/2/3 guns and such.
Wouldn't that be cool

you can change the starting ship
if you are the admin of a server you can select whatever you want people to have
freeport 9 server gives you the anubis as a starter ship

I didn't know Capt. Tylor's underlying plan of forcing people to trade, when I arrived at Manhattan, only to find a Rhino and $500 credits. First I checked the wrecks, but they were clean, so I drove over to Pueblo sta., took a lvl 1, anti-Xeno mission, being sure it was in Copperton field, flew to within 5 kliks of the mission waypoint, and leisurely shot rocks, until I had 80 ingots of copper, then took out the Starfliers with that puny gun, flew back to Pueblo, sold the copper for $32,000, sold the junk from the Xenos, and with the mission's $2250, I had about $35k and several options. I come from a time when we had to make do with what we had, so I enjoy this kind of challenge.

some worthwhile things I noted when fooling with the loadout.ini file inthe data\ships folder. All of these apply to the server patch.

The patch can boot a player for numerous reasons.
having an npc shield
having an infinite power plant
placing a class 10 weapon in a class 5 hardpoint
having the uber shield and hull

I'm still digging around some more, but I thought this info might be useful to anyone who seeks to change the starting ship on their server. I'll post a quick tutorial when I do some more research.
