Anubis Ship

I just finished the story missions, and as you know they promised you an Anubis as a reward. well I didn't get it, they dropped me of on liberty and said get a Job.
I was wondering if it was a glitch or did I have do something?

You have to buy it from the Order.
Don't worry though, the anubis isn't all that great.
In what ship did you finish anyway?

Go back to one of the savegames for the latest campaign missions and buy the ship there - it cannot be bought after the end of the campaign. And I have to disagree with Nickless because the Anubis is a great ship. I cannot spell out the details here because they would be spoilers, so let's just say that the Anubis can fly difficulty 35 missions easily and that in some regards it is clearly better than even the class 7/8 heavy fighters.

Spoilers ...

the anubis is a great ship.

personally, I thought it was overly powerful for the story missions.

you can EASILY finish the story in the anubis.

However, when you get to those manly lvl 30 missions, you will find out that the anubis is a tad underpowered.

you have half the weapons power, half the armor and half the shield of your opponents. Oh, and you might be fighting 3 - 8 opponents at one time.

Don't get me wrong, I believe the Anubis is my favorite ship but that is a biased opinion because it allowed me to finish the story line.

yep, the anubis is a nice good ship, it's to bad u can't get it after the storyline and in mp (for a bigger sum of money, and with the weaps of the orders of co'z).

ps. i did already div 43 in a drake a few times (made 5 screen shots of it) ánd flew back to the place from where i did thus missions.

the type of ship doesn't say so mutch, the right fighter in the right hands with the right armament makes a fighter diviculty to beat... even a starflier can as deathly as what if the right person tokes the right weaps (2 class 2 weap and 1 class 3 weap, or even with only 3 class 2 weaps)...

the light fighters have better agility and (very) heavy fighters have mostly more armor and have more weap-slots and have the ability to mount a torpedo, but lesser agility... what do u wanna have, a light fighter or a (very) heavy fighter.

@ Warbringer Naw, those lvl 30 missions are just target practice for warming up - even a Crusader can do those. It's the lvl 35 missions where the Anubis shows that it has more oomph than the other class 6 heavy fighters. And firepower is no problem at all with an optimal weapon loadout (there is only one optimal combo) and if you know how to use Starkillers properly.

In the thread Order Ship over in the Spoiler Forum there are some more posts extolling the virtues of the Anubis.

From the ship info card:

Though it is not an easy ship to fly, in the hands of a skilled pilot the Anubis is unbeatable.

When I first flew the ship the Outcasts and the Corsairs handed me my *ss on a platter - I lacked both the skill to handle a heavy fighter properly and the knowledge to select decent weapons. In fact, not knowing better I had equipped the worst guns that exist in the game (the ones that you can loot during the campaign and that shoot green bolts) ...

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take the Anubis out for a spin because I had not flown it since the first time through the campaign. I got it from level 18 to level 38 in under five hours, and more than half of that time I spent driving around to adjust my reputation and to obtain the equipment I wanted ... When I had done that I went to a place with decent missions and earned $2 million in 2 hours (killing 174 Stilettos and 92 Sabres ). The Anubis can earn money even faster but I took a couple of lower-paid missions from another faction to keep my reputation from becoming too unbalanced.

have to buy in campaign also get all your order stuff when you can because you'll never get back to omicron minor again unless you have a mod.

I used a Baracuda with OUtfitted to the max.

Post Tue Jul 29, 2003 7:53 pm

In a Baracuda it was outfitted to the max

The Anubis is a very capable fighter even though it can only use level 6 weapons.
And if you use the right combination of those weapons to use its firepower is deadly to almost most other ships in the game.

they practically give u the anubis anyway as they sell for a ridiculous price. but by the time u get that far your ship is probably far better than it anyway.
