map joystick to mouse (er mouse to joystick?)

Has anybody had success with mapping their joystick to their mouse?
I'm looking for suggestions and tech help before I try this myself.
That is all I am asking and all that I am saying on the matter.
(I will confess, my Logitech thumb ball has worked MOST EXCELLENTLY except it is difficult to fire using the second mouse button; but that's just me. I'm impressed Digital Anvil).
I'm loving this game and appreciate everyone's participation.
Sincerely,
Stripe

Oh I'm not flaming them, everyone is new at some point, I'm just dispairing!
I mean, the mods have made things sticky, put stuff in caps... what more can they do?
It wouldn't be so bad, but in the last week it's really end been bad
And I can't say anything for being a newbie anyhow, I've only been here about a month as it is!

So, when are they letting you outa there?

To answer the original post. I mapped my Saitek X45 to the mouse in a matter of seconds. It sucks really bad. You can't invert the mouse in this game, so pushing the stick forward makes you fly UP instead of down, which is more intuitive. Inversely pulling the stick back puts you in a “dive”. It was horrible. I switched back to the mouse as fast as I could.

Thankyou Holliday. That was the answer I was looking for before I wasted my time following the advice listed in the other posts which did not follow up on how the actual gameplay went with the joystick mapped to the mouse.
Noobie?
I was punching cards before the best part of you ran down the crack of your mama's ***.
It would be easier to search messages for the answers I desire if I didn't have to sift through all the mindless quibble like the above who would rather **** off a response than read what the actual question was and actually be of some help.

I'm finished with this crap.

Meh.

I would have said "No offence to you personally, but theres been a lot of this recently, and it does say it, right at the top... anyway, welcome"

Howver considering the above, I think not.

You're better off maping the joystick to keystrokes rather than the mouse (providing your drivers supoprt it)

But i have to agree with Lutz here.
There have been numerous posts in the last 2 weeks regarding this that would have answered your question, in both general discussion and in tech issues, if you had only used the search funtion.
Not flaming, just annoyed at how lazy some people can get (myself included)

But at least you didnt follow up 30 minutes later with a demand for an answer like some of the others do....

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

Here, here! The world would be that much more perfect if people would respond with answers rather than insulting redirections. Got nothing useful to say regarding the question? Be kind and move on. Please.
