Your ideal Addon/MOD

Personally the coolest idea for a mod/addon would be one where you create your own faction. You could pick a system and have stations, then wage war on others. It could work like civ (but not turn based of course but the trading aspect- which could be carried out by supply ships you have to assign escorts)
It wouldnt need an SP campaign since the very essense of waging war on Sirius would be an easy way of creating your own epic tales.

i would love to see your actions have an affect on the universe, take enough missions for say the corsairs, and kick the hessians out of omega 5 etc

Ummmmm Bob, that's not gonna happen, a war is waaaaay too much of a change to be made in this game, however, I wonder myself if more plausable ideas like adding missions and more variety to them is even possible.

Varying speed for different classes of ships and afterburners. Different types of laser fire, not just the bog standard blaster style. Battleships patroling. Varying prices in Commodities. Full cross reference table in the game for all commodities. Ability to buy Transports, Gunboats, Battle Ships. Beam weapons. And erm, that'd do nicly methinks.

If it wasn't for the inky blackness of the night you wouldn't appreciate the brilliance of the stars...

True it would change the game totally-but it would make it a much more lastable experiance, not to mention replayability

I think an awsome mod would be to add lik sea ships to the game and add thrusters somewhere. I know this sounds stupid i just think it would be cool
