So why is there no option to play as Mrs.Trent ?
An option to choose a female character would be nice to see in any future up-date or add-on, or will the male ego find it to upsetting to get shotdown by a girlie ?
Maybe I am the only female Freelancer ...
Been playing for so long Trent is starting to look attractive !...

If there is an expansion, I'd say an option to play as a different character (female, or not) would be a definite improvment.

There is patch that allows people to customise Trent. Problem is changing him into a woman and then everybody still calls him Trent. It tends to get a little... discomforting.

What's the diference between playing with a male or female character, You are still the one who's flying the ship.
It's only the looks and names and the the voice of your character thats diferent.
I would like to choose sides before starting a campaign...That would be interesting
Or they have to make diferent abilities for diferent characters, or something like that.
Just changing looks doesn't change anything.

I don't care too much about the sex of the main character... I kinda identified with my ship, not with Trent, if you know what I mean...

They decided not to have the main character customizable, because it would be difficult to make the story if the character changed a lot, although frankly I don't think a whole lot of the story depended on Trent's (uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh) character, as in physical attributes and voice.

Considering "Trent" is his surname I don't think it'd be much of a problem being called that when being a female one. I think it's good noone ever (except that diplomat guy) calls him "Edison". I understand why "It's just Trent" :p

Look at the way Trent wiggles his buns when he walks. Quite obviously, "he" is really a butch gal in disguise. No matter how long he is flying in space, he never seems to need to shave -- never gets six o'clock shadow or anything. And notice how he never once tries anything on with Juni or those cute Kusari gals? But "he" does seemed concerned a couple of times about King. Hmmm ...

Puke: Every male character seems to have that problem. I noticed it with King and Orillion also (not sure we ever get posterior shots of Quintane or Tobias walking). I figure they just weren't real good at animating hips properly, and all the people end up with a somewhat feminine lilt to their walk.

I think they all shared the same walking/running animations, though perhaps I'm wrong. Taking a quick look at the files would tell fo' sho'
