What happend to the coallition

its too bad freelancer doesnt have any remains of the coalition, actually they could have chased some ships and make a new settelment in sirius
it wouldnt bother me if the game had russian ships that tend to fall apart without any visible reason or just stop functioning

anybody knows if an expansion is planned? please tell me it is, this game is so great, its legendery

They don't want to?

They got what they wanted - the Alliance away from Sol, so why bother going after them?

People don't like war.

Because the Coalition has no idea where the Sleeper Ships went to and weren't prepared for a long chase.

Keep in mind that the colonists are in the Sirius SECTOR, not the Sirius SYSTEM.

Plus the Sol System back then was the heart of humanity. It has had the bulk of the human poplation and an industrial base dwarfing anything the sleeper ships could have hauled with them. Why should the Coalition even bother chasing a few refugees across the galaxy? It would be more effort than it's worth.

And why would they waste 800 years to settle in Sirius, when there's closer sectors nearby...

is it even planned? im not asking if it will be about the coalition, just asking if there will be one

Post Mon Jun 30, 2003 6:10 pm

they cant come back, there all dead. in the un edited into to freelancer the nomads destory sol killing everything in it except for the sleeper ships which had already gone but tht got cut from the game intro, you should still be able to d/l it on here

Post Mon Jun 30, 2003 6:12 pm

And there's a reason why it's edited out. Don't be too surprised if they're not dead at all in the expansion or sequel.

hey but think about this. what if somewhere along the lines of 800 years, the alliance made a comeback. People forget that the alliance was still there when the sleeper ships launced, what if the alliance slowly beat back the coalition and won?

i mean if the alliance won, youd think they would go and find the sleeper ships. but the sleeper ships travelled at a speed no other ships could travel at, also the ships werent piloted by anyone meaning they couldnt just turn back. But then again the coalition won, it wouldnt be the "coalition" anymore because you need an enemy to be a coalition. I imagine they would have simply become the new human population.. who knows

really makes you wonder. but then again, its all made up by some drunken fools at microsoft who dont enjoy making things logical and realistic.

That doesn't sound very feasible. As the Alliance was pushed farther and farther from Earth, they also lost their production facilities and so on. AFAIK, at the time of SL the Coalition controlled all the planets as far out as Saturn, except Jupiter which was still being contested I believe. I simply don't think the Alliance would have enough resources to push the Coalition hard enough. I could be completely wrong though, I havn't played SL in a while.
