Long live the Dragons!
The Blood Dragons are the only faction in the game that is alive. That is, besides the the abstract, unpersonal background info you get to know individual characters that represent this faction, and you also get to know them as members of the faction. So you can associate individuals with the faction and vice versa.
The other groups/factions are either completely faceless or appear so briefly that the impression fades quickly (Bundschuh); the background stories are nice and there also are nice interconnections between groups but it is still something abstract, something that you read in the paper (or ezine, as it were). There are other characters besides the Dragons (King, Walker ...) but they are not assiocated with their factions; in fact most of them are rebels/renegades or 'singularities'.
In a different vein: don't you all just love pushovers like the Rogues, Mollies or Red Hessians - always good for replenishing nanos/batts without having to visit a base, and always good for a bar mission to make a quick buck (or rep-fix) because they are so pathetically weak that it does not matter whether they hostile or not?
